Holiday Beach Photo Guide for Fuerteventura.

There really are some magnificent beaches on the Canary Island of Fuerteventura and dozens to pick from on this beach-lovers holiday island.

Fuerteventura's Beaches vary from quite busy to deserted so you can take your pick as your mood takes you for the type of beach you fancy and whether you wear anything or not.

Quite a few of the beaches on Fuerteventura have restaurants and cafes available especially on the Costa Calma side of the island as well as the usual beach chair and umbrella hire etc. We have not indicated where naturism is ok since generally speaking it's an individuals choice as to how much or little you wear on Fuerteventura's various beaches - with everybody usually quite happily mixing together.

One of the features of the island are the sometimes very strong winds - there is nothing like strolling down the beach into a headwind - almost bent double to make headway and trying to avoid the flying sand. But then if one part of Fuerteventura is subject to the winds you can usually just switch to a beach on another part of the coast easily enough.

With only about four or so hours flying time out to the Canary Islands from the UK and with lots of cheap flights available if you hunt around it is easy to want to take a quick short break out to Fuerteventura during the winter and have a nice languish on one or two of these lovely beaches.

If you enjoy a bit of long distance nudist walking then the 16km walk along the beach from Fuerteventura's Morro Jable to Costa Calma is ideal and many people seem to do it at least once whilst on holiday. Another popular area of beach particuarly for naturists is up at the top of the island around the extensive Corralejo sand dunes, but for bathing it should be noted that the sea does have some pretty weird and potentially dangerous currents in places so take note of the warning flags.
