There are some great beaches on Lanzarote which vary from quite touristy
to just about deserted, the latter especially on parts of the coast
where there are quite a few secluded small beaches to discover where you
can strip off for your sunbathing and swimming if you so wish. Naturists / Nudists are a familiar
sight on many of Lanzarote's beaches - there is of course plenty of room for
everyone to do as they wish particularly once you are away from the main tourist beaches. The beaches in and around Lanzarote's Papagaya coast are really good and even better (because we particularly like wild and rugged type beaches) is Playa de Famara beach - a really long beach mostly pebbled but with pockets of sand. A quite bumpy track runs right along the back of the beach therefore you can easily find somewhere to park. There are lots of stone wind shelters on this beach which is quite well used by naturists - the only exception to using this beach for nudists is possibly on Friday afternoons and weekends when the local Islanders descend onto the beach complete with their tents and barbeQs - often to stay for the weekend. |
