Whenever we go on holiday abroad we always really try to get to know as much as possible about the location and see as much of it as possible. We do this by going out for walking trips on tracks, paths and moni-paths to discover beaches, villages and general scenery.

Our site content is therefore often orientated towards walking but we think our photos and descriptions do show off the various locations for non-walkers too for sightseeing and touring trips whilst on holiday. In addition we have lots of information about things like costs for car-hire, food, buses, beaches and so on to help give an idea of what the place is like for a holiday. We do enjoy beaches and sunbathing and where possible some nice nude swimming and sunbathing (and where posstible taking nudist walks) so on many of our travel destination pages there are a series of beach photos and often indications on which beaches are used by and are ok for naturists.
Note - there are no nudist photos on our site - our content is suitable viewing for all ages.

Greek Islands are particularly good to visit in the Spring if you enjoy Greek Island Walking when especially some of the islands are covered in wild flowers, lots of different birds around and the mountain streams still have plenty of water in them (Lesvos and Andros are brilliant for hiking in the Spring). Flying times out to the various islands is around 3 or so hours although quite a few of them don't have jet capable airports so it's not unusual to have to do the final leg by ferry, dolphin or fast catamaran - all good fun and part of the Greek Holiday Experience.
It's great to go off hiking in the hills and countryside on a Greek Island using it's tracks, kalderimi, moni-paths and paths and then finish off the day by stripping off and getting your back and other bits globally warmed on a beautiful -possibly- deserted beach you have found.
An additional bonus if you like getting out and about is that many of the Greek Islands have now been mapped - often quite accurately - which is great for Greek Island hiking trips. On the individual island pages (our holiday guides currently cover the Greek Islands of Lesbos, Symi, Skiathos, Kos, Santorini, Lefkada, Thassos, Crete, Samos, Naxos, Skopelos, Alonissos, Andros, Lefkas, Patmos, Lipsi, Skiathos, Mykonos, Sikinos, Paros and Paxos) we have sometimes mentioned relevant maps all of which are now easily available from book shops or web site based map stores. Also we must mention the excellent "Sunflower" series of books - we always check to see if a relevant edition is available before going to a "new" island.

Early in the holiday season when things are pretty quiet i.e. perhaps from the end of April and on through into June possibly the nicest way to visit many of these Greek Islands is just be using the ferry system and Island Hopping - often you will get really excellent deals for accommodation on offer as you get off the ferry and you get the Spring beauty of the islands as a bonus.

Our Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and Gran Canaria travel and holiday guides have general information about hire car, buses, beaches, restaurants .. plus there are lots of pictures from around the various islands and quite a few walks descriptions. We like to go on holiday to the Canary Isles in late Autumn since there is a reasonable chance of good walking and beach weather and some excellent naturist swimming and sunbathing too.

Walking Instructions. These are correct to the best of our knowledge but we cannot guarantee 100 percent accuracy - particularly on Greek Islands tracks and paths do get changed and sometimes destroyed. A good map should always be utilised particularly on longer/remote walks.
Links. Link exchange is welcomed from relevant sites as long as they are not heavily commercialised - by relevant we mean sites which are on a similar theme to our own.

Other. Copying any of our "walk instructions" for personal use is fine but do not copy/take our walks details or photos for your own web-site - please do your own thing. All the content on this site remains the sole property of John Fox, Oxfordshire, England
